ANNOTATION FEATURE OF YOUTUBE

EMBED LINKS IN YOUTUBE VIDEOS USING THE ANNOTATION FEATURE

Youtube Annotation
You can now insert live hyperlinks to any of your external websites inside YouTube videos with the help of video annotations.
Some good news for YouTube publishers. You can now embed links in your YouTube videos using the annotations feature of YouTube. These hyperlinks may either point to your website’s homepage or to any other internal webpage of a site that is associated with your YouTube account or channel.
Thus, if your YouTube video explains how to blogging, you can insert an annotation linking to your blog post where the steps are described in greater detail. Or if your video contains a news footage, the annotation may point to the text version of the new story hosted on your own website.
The links are clickable and work even if the YouTube video is embedded on to another website.

How to Add Links in your YouTube Videos

Before you can embed links in your YouTube videos, you need to associate your websites with your YouTube channel (in case you haven’t done it before).
Sign-in to your Google Webmasters account and click the site name that you would like to associate with YouTube. Then go to Configuration -> Associates -> Add New User and enter the email address that is associate with your YouTube channel. Now your website is linked to your YouTube account.
Link your website(s) with your YouTube channel.
Next, go to youtube.com/verify and associate your phone number with your YouTube channel. Phone verification is essential for YouTube to enable extra features in your account which includes videos URL annotations and the ability to upload videos of unlimited length to YouTube.
Related:  Add Logos to your YouTube Videos
Once the account is verified, open any of YouTube videos and click the “Annotations” link to create and edit annotations for that video. Here you’ll see a banner that says “Enable your account for external annotation links” – click the “Enable” button and you are all set to create annotations to external websites now.
While you are inside the Annotations edition, click the Add annotation button to create a new annotation and choose between Speech Bubbles, Notes, Spotlight or Label. Select the “Link” checkbox, choose “Associated Website” from the drop-down and paste the URL. Publish and you’re done.
One more thing. While you can place annotations anywhere in the video player, it may be a good idea to avoid the lower third as the area is often used to display ads.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD MS OFFICE 2013

-->

DOWNLOAD MS OFFICE 2013

MS office 2013
You can go to office.com/preview and download the full-featured edition of Office 2013 that includes Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, One Note, Publisher, and Microsoft Access (no Vision here). You can install this version on up to 5 PCs using your Microsoft account.
This is actually Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium Preview and what’s unique here is that you can get Office running on your computer within minutes of hitting the install button. This uses
Microsoft’s Click-To-Run installation technology – you just have to download a 500KB installer and it “streams” the Microsoft Office applications to your computer.
The downside is that you have to install the entire Office package and second, this isn’t the final release of Office but a “preview” edition (version 15.0.4128.1025).

The other option is that you download the Microsoft Office 2013 installer from the Technet website (all you need is a Windows Live ID). Unlike the preview edition of Office, this one is the “final” Office Professional Plus 2013 release (version 15.0.4433.1506) that will continue to work for 60 days from the date of installation.
In order to install this version of Office, you’ll be required to download the full MSI installer (666 MB, Office Professional Plus_x86_en-us.img) but the advantage is that you can choose which Office programs should be installed on the computer.

Which Microsoft Office 2013 edition should I download?

Microsoft Office 2013 Pro is available as a 60-day trial while there’s no exact expiry date fixed for Office 365 Preview. Microsoft says that Office Preview will expire approximately 60 days after Office 2013 becomes available in that market. You will thus have more time to play with Office 2013 with the preview release.
Office 365 Preview can be installed alongside an older copy of Microsoft Office whereas in the case of Office 2013 Professional, it will override your existing installation.

One more thing The Office 2013 preview release streams very quickly (click to run) and you don’t even have to be an administrator of your computer to install it. That’s not the case with Office 2013 Pro.
Microsoft hasn’t specified an exact release date for Microsoft Office 2013 but if you buy a licence of Microsoft Office 2010

HOW TO CAPTURE IMAGE OF WHOLE WEB PAGE

SAVE IMAGE OF WHOLE WEB PAGE

web tools
Web Screenshots is an online tool to help you screen capture an entire website page without requiring any add-ons. Works on mobile too!
Meet Web Screenshots , an online tool that will help you capture a full-length screenshot image of any “public” web page with a click.
While the tool will work across all screens, it is a more handy option for taking screen captures of web pages on mobile devices – phones and tablets – where you often don’t have the option to install extensions.

Alternatives for Android and iOS

In the case of iOS devices – the iPhones and the iPads – you can use the Home + Sleep buttons to capture screenshots but a limitation is that it will only capture the regions that are visible in the Safari browser. Web Screenshots will capture the entire web page.
There’s no standard shortcut* for capturing screenshots in Android devices and sometimes you have to root the phone just for a simple screen capture.
You can however download the free Dolphin Browser with the Screen Cut add-on on Android and you’ll then be able to screen capture pages directly in the web browser. This is recommended when you wish to screen capture web pages that require login – like a snapshot of your e-ticket or an online payment receipt. [*] The Samsung Galaxy series of Android phones do provide a built-in shortcut for taking screenshots. Press and hold the “Back” button and then press the Home key – the screenshot

HOW TO INSTALL WINDOW 8 IN DUAL BOOT MODE

HOW TO UPDATE WINDOW TO NEWER VERSION 8

Window 8
To get started, we first need to create a physical partition on our hard disk. Search for “Disk Management” in the Windows Search box and choose the program with the description – “Create and format hard disk partitions.”
While the Disk Management console is open, select the Drive Volume that you want to partition (C: in our case) and choose “Shrink Volume.”
Next you need to specify the size of your new Windows 8 partition. For a basic installation, 30-40 GB should be fine – you need to put this number (1 GB = 1024 MB) in the box that says “Enter the amount of space to shrink in MB.”
Windows will now create a new “unallocated” volume with a similar capacity of 20 GB. Right click that volume and choose “New Simple Volume.”
Inside the Simple Volume Wizard, leave the volume size at the default value, assign a new Drive Letter to this volume and format the partition using NTFS format. That’s it – the new hard disk partition is now ready to house your copy of Windows 8.
Install Windows 8 in Dual-Boot Mode
Let’s now install Windows 8 on the new partition. Insert the bootable Windows 8 DVD and reboot the machine.
If your computer does not boot from the DVD, press F2 (or F12 or  the Delete key) while the machine is booting up to open the BIOS settings. Switch to the Boot menu in BIOS settings and set CD-ROM as the first device in the boot order.
Save the settings, exit the BIOS and your computer should automatically reboot. It will display a prompt – “Press any key to boot from CD or DVD..” and the boot process will pause for a few seconds. Press any key now and it should take you straight into the Windows 8 installer. Just follow the step-by-step wizard to install Windows 8 on the new partition.
Windows will restart a couple of times – you may want to eject the DVD to avoid those “boot from DVD” prompts” – and the installation should be complete in about 15 minutes. Also, it will offer you a “Choose OS” screen so you can change your default OS or switch to another one with a click. The whole

HOW TO SPEED UP AND FIX PC FOR SLOW INTERNET

HOW INCREASE THE SPEED OF INTERNET Tips & Tricks

Speed up PC internet
There can be several reasons why you may be getting slower-than-usual Internet connection speeds. For instance, you could be accessing the web during peak hours. Or your download manager could be downloading files in the background thus consuming all the bandwidth. Or, if you are accessing the Internet over Wi-Fi, maybe you’re too far off from the wireless router.
Then there are external factors that may slow down the Internet. You are probably
getting Internet through your existing phone line so if there’s a fault in the wiring that may negatively affect your connection speed. In fact, if your Internet connection is not stable and keeps dropping off frequently, blame the phone company.Does Your Telephone Line Need Repair? You don’t need any special equipment to determine if your phone line is the real culprit but before we get there, let’s run a few simple tests to discount all the other possibilities.

Test #1.Power-cycle the router and modem – unplug the cables, wait for couple of minute and then power on the modem followed by the router.
If you have been experiencing connectivity issues after a power-outage, power cycling will most probably fix the issue.

Test #2. Close all applications including any firewalls and anti-virus software. Then open speedtest.netto determine the actual download and upload speed of your Internet connection.
If you have Wi-Fi at your place, remove the router for a moment and connect the ADSL modem directly to your computer’s Ethernet port via a physical LAN cable. Repeat the speed test. Did you see any improvement in the connection speed?

Test #3 . To ensure that none of the viruses or spyware programs are responsible for your slow Internet, open command prompt and run the following command:
netstat  – b  – f 5
This will easily help you figure out if any of the programs on your computer are silently connecting to the Internet without your knowledge. Should you find a strange process in the netstat result listing, kill it through the Task Manager.

Test #4. If your Internet speed woes aren’t over yet, it’s time to inspect the phone line. No, you don’t have to climb that telephone pole as the stats from your DSL modem /router will alone give the required data.

Open the web dashboard of your modem /router and note the following values for the downstream connection (not upstream). The fields are generally available under Statistics –> ADSL.

1. Line Attenuation (or Loop Loss) – It measures how much signal is lost between the phone exchange and your modem. Great the distance between the exchange and your home, the higher the attenuation. Anything below 50dB is considered acceptable.

2. Sync Speed (or Rate) – The speed at which the router connects to the exchange equipment.

3. SNR Margin (or Noise Margin) – This represents the difference between your current SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) and the SNR that’s required to serve a particular speed. If the SNR Margin is low, you may experience frequent disconnections. Ideally, this should be 12dB or higher. Once you have all these values, paste them into the ADSL Calculator and it will give you an estimate of the maximum speed that you get from the ISP. If the SNR Margin is low or the Line Attenuation is high or if the calculated maximum speed is lesser than what you are paying for, the fault lies somewhere between your modem and the phone exchange.

HOW TO SUBMIT SITEMAP OF BLOGGER

GENERATE THE XML SITEMAP OF BLOGGER

Sitemap
The XML Sitemap file is like a directory of all web pages that exist on your website or blog.Search engines like Google and Bing can use these sitemap files to discover pages on your site that the search bots may have otherwise missed during regular crawling.

The Problem with Blogger Sitemap Files

An complete sitemap file should mention all pages of a site but that’s not the case if your blog is hosted on Blogger.
The default XML sitemap file of any Blogger blog will have only the 26 most recent blog posts – see example . That’s a limitation because some of your older blog pages, that are missing in the default XML sitemap file, may never get indexed in search engines. There’s however a simple solution to fix this problem.

Generate a Complete Sitemap for your Blogger Blog

This section is valid for both regular Blogger blogs (that use blogspot.com address) and also the self-hosted Blogger blogs that use a custom domain (like postsecret.com).

Here’s what you need to do to expose your blog’s complete site structure to search engines with the help of an XML sitemap.

1. Open the Sitemap Generator and type the full address of your blogspot blog (or your self-hosted Blogger blog).

2. Click the Create Sitemap button and this tool will instantly generate the necessary text for your sitemap. Copy the entire generated text to your clipboard (see screenshot below).

3. Next go to your Blogger dashboard and under Settings –> Search Preferences, the enable Custom robots.txt option (available in the Crawling and Indexing section). Paste the clipboard text here and save your changes.

And we are done. Search engines will automatically discover your XML sitemap files via the robots.txt file and you don’t have to ping them manually.

HOW TO BUY APPS FOR ANDROID PHONE AND TABLETS

ANDROID MARKETING TIPS & TRICKS

Android Marketing
Google Android Market does not offer a ‘try before you buy’ option for testing paid apps but there’s an easy workaround that will help you try any of the paid apps before buying them.
Google’s online Android Market, now called Google Play, is huge with more than 200,000 apps for your Android mobile phone and tablets. A lot of these Android Apps are available as free downloads while the paid apps can cost anywhere between 99 ¢ and $200.
Amazon runs a parallel online store for Android Apps and one good thing about Amazon’s store is that it lets you test and test apps before you actually buy them.

But Google does not offer “try before you buy” apps but there’s an easy workaround that will help you test any paid app before buying it – you buy an app from the Android market, use it for about 10-12 minutes and then refund the app. The app will be uninstalled from your mobile phone and your account won’t be charged.

How to Refund an Android App

It take a few easy steps to refund an app to the Android Market:

Step 1: Visit the Google Android Market, either on your desktop or your mobile phone, and buy any of the ‘paid’ apps.

Step 2: The app is now installed on your mobile phone. Launch the app and you can test it for the next 10-12 minutes.

Step 3. Go back to the Android Market app on your mobile phone and under “My Apps,” tap the app name that you are trying to refund. Hit the “Refund” button and the app will automatically uninstall from your mobile phone.

Step 4. Once the App has been uninstalled, it may ask you to specify a reason for removing the app. You can check “I’d rather not say” here and the app amount will be refunded. You’ll also get an email from Google saying:
You have uninstalled the application from your phone. We have cancelled your order and you have not been charged.

The refund process is quite easy and 10 minutes are often enough for you to get a good idea about an app. I tried this with at least two different paid apps and the whole thing worked without a hitch. There are however two things regarding Google’s refund policy that you should know:
1. You only have 15 minutes to return an app to the Android Market from the time of download after which the “refund” option will disappear from the app.
2. You can return an app only once; if you refund an app and purchase it again, you won’t be able to refund it to the

HOW TO CHOOSE find BEST COLLEGE IN USA

FIND BEST COLLEGE IN USA

Best College In USA
Much of the discussion for American high school students looking to college focuses on the right fit. It is a prominent theme in the advertising and marketing material produced by the school. For American’s looking for schools, rankings come secondary, as rankings don’t tell the whole story. Parents certainly want their students to attend prestigious and competitive colleges, but with so many colleges across the United States, American students often segment the schools into categories and then focus on finding the best match.
First, it is important to recognize the way American’s refer to the term “college” is very different than in other countries. In the United States, college is a post-secondary institution of higher education. University is defined as the same, but depending on the regulations of the state in which the school is located, the term may have a technical difference. For the most part, universities are bigger than colleges. For the most part, colleges focus on undergraduate education while universities have strong graduate schools along with undergraduate education. Dartmouth, Amherst, Carleton, Pomona and Wellesley all have college in their name and among the most elite institutions in the world. In everyday use, the term “college” is a generic term use for “colleges and universities.” An American would go to college the same way an Australia would go to university.
Categories themselves are not universally recognized or widely understood so let’s look at some background. US News, producer of the most popular ranking of American colleges has divided institutions into multiple categories with the following descriptions:

National Universities

offer a full range of undergraduate majors, master’s, and doctoral degrees. These colleges also are committed to producing ground breaking research.

National Liberal Arts Colleges

emphasize undergraduate education and award at least half of their degrees in the liberal arts fields of study.

Regional Universities

offer a full range of undergrad programs and some master’s programs but few doctoral programs.

Regional Colleges

focus on undergraduate education but grant fewer than half their degrees in liberal arts disciplines.
Beyond this list, there are community colleges and special focus institutions like Art Schools, Engineering Schools, and Medical Schools. One big difference between National and Regional is the geographic diversity of American students at the school. Regional schools have a higher percentage of local students and thus the listings are broken down into geographic regions (North, South, Midwest and West). National colleges and universities draw strongly from all over the country. Many regional institutions are very popular with foreign students.
Going beyond these categories there are other designations put on a school. They are either public or private, the difference being tied to the governance of the school. A unit of government, usually the state, controls public schools. Private schools are independent, regulated by government, but not controlled by them. The quality of an institution cannot be determined by this designation. Public schools will charge a higher tuition for students from outside their area (state). Schools may further define themselves in a category such as Women’s Colleges, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s), other categories of minority serving or aphilosophy of teaching like Liberal Arts.
Religion plays a big part in the history of nearly every private U.S. college or university as just about every private college in America was founded by a religious organization. As they have grown, many of these institutions have shifted from their original orientation and become welcoming to all students and educators of many subjects and philosophies. There are only a very few private schools that require students to pledge their faith and these are generally referred to as evangelical schools. For most private schools, even those labeled as religious, students are usually required to take a few religion courses and these courses are often more oriented toward history or philosophy as much as religious study (doctrine). Catholic schools are often cited as examples of religious schools and they themselves are categorized by their founding orders: Jesuit, Christian Brothers, LaSallian, Franciscan, etc.
Another way colleges are categorized is by athletics. Athletic competition is an important part of the social fabric of most colleges. Colleges field teams in many sports and the games/matches are popular activities for students to watch and ways schools compete with each other. The colleges are organized into leagues and these leagues are often an easy way to band similar schools together. These leagues are also referred to as conferences. The most widely known sports league is the Ivy League where 8 of the most elite compete. Teams are divided into Division I, II and III, designations that reflect the amount of financial support schools put into athletic scholarships. Division 1 is the most competitive; Division III does not allow scholarships determined by athleticability alone.
Of the 25 schools with large international student population, nine are in the Big 10 athletic conference, four in the Ivy League and three in the Pac 12 conference. Nineteen of the 25play Division 1 football, 24 of 25 play Division I basketball. Other well-known Division 1 conferences are the Big 12, Southeast Conference, Big East and Atlantic Coast Conference. For smaller schools, Athletic conferences are still a good place to find similar schools. The Patriot League has American University, Bucknell, Colgate, Fordham, Georgetown, Holy Cross, Lafayette and Lehigh – schools that match well academically as well as on the field. The Midwest conference has Beloit, Carroll, Grinnell, Illinois College, Knox, Lake Forest, Lawrence, Monmouth, Ripon and St. Norbert – schools that rival each other academically as well as on the field.
Students, guidebook authors and others will add further labels to schools. Some are very thought provoking like the “Colleges that Change Lives” others verge on being silly like “America’s Top Party Schools.” The 2010 Kaplan Guides introduced new categories like “Most Service-Minded Schools”and “Most Desirable Suburban Schools” and “Best Schools for Future Power Brokers” and “The New Ivies: 25 Hot Schools.”
For the foreign student, this issue of fit is more complicated. You speak a different native language and you come from a different culture so it is natural that you would think that you are not like the others, and you won’t fit, but you really can. The American population comes from all nations and the country takes great pride in its diversity and you should look for schools where you might fit. Step aside from the rankings, take an assessment of your personality and then take a deeper look at schools and the concept of fit. It is likely that the best friends you will make in your life will be found at college, often you will find a spouse in college so you can see

The website operates on a first-come first-served basis so if you can fill the reservation form in lesser amount of time, it may improve your chances of getting a train ticket.
That’s where Magic Auto fill can help. It’s a simple online tool that will fill the passenger details form on the IRCTC website with the click of a button thus giving you an upper hand.
Here’s how the tool works. Go to ctrlq.org/irctc around ten minutes prior to the opening of the booking window and complete the form – its an almost exact copy of the form that’s available on the Indian railways website. Once you have filled the passenger details, hit I’m Feeling Lucky and the tool will generate a Magic Auto fill button that you need to drag to your bookmarks toolbar.
Now when you on the Indian Railways website to book tickets, just click the same Magic Auto fill button on your bookmarks toolbar and The reservation form is filled automatically and you can directly proceed to the payment screen.
What happens behind the scene? You are essentially pre-filling a form and saving it as a bookmark. Next when you are on the actual form, you click the bookmark to transfer the previously filled values to your new form.
Sometimes the IRCTC form may not have every field that’s available on the Magic Auto fill website (say Food preference or ID details) and in that case, you can just ignore these fields on the Magic Auto fill site. It’s always a good idea to do a test run and fill only the fields that are required for your particular train.

HOW CAN EASILY PASSWORD PROTECTED YOUR FILES AND FOLDERS

LOCK YOUR FILES AND FOLDERS IN COMPUTER

Safehouse Explorer
This guide describes how you can easily password protect your files and folders on the computer or a USB Flash drive. The locked folders are hidden from view and won’t display in Windows desktop search results.
Do you have files and folders on your computer that you absolutely don’t want anyone else to see? Or do you even carry important documents on those easy-to-misplace USB drives?
If the answer is yes, you should download a copy of safehouse

SafeHouse Explorer

it’s a free and easy-to-use file encryption utility that will hide all your private files from prying eyes in few easy steps. You may use the tool to password protect files that are residing on your computer’s internal hard disk or even on external USB drives.
Tutorial: Encrypt and Password Protect your Files and Folders
SafeHouse Explorer, in simple English, works something like this. It creates a hidden storage area on your disk to hold all the files that you want to protect. These files and folders are hidden from normal view and will only become visible when you enter the correct password.
Here’s a more detailed tutorial on how you can protect your files with SafeHouse Explorer.
Step 1: Download and install the SafeHouse Explorer program to your hard-drive ( screenshot ).
The software works with XP, Vista and Windows 7 (both 32 and 64-bit editions). It is also portable so you may run it directly without installation.
Step 2: Once the installation is complete, click the “New Volume” button to create your hidden storage that will house your various files and folders.
You may either create one large volume to store all the “private” files or you can create multiple smaller-size volumes each corresponding to the type of files that they’ll store. For instance, you may have one volume for storing confidential documents and spreadsheets while another one could be for hiding those “personal” pictures and so on.For step 2b, choose a volume size based on the size of the folders that you’ll be storing inside that volume. The “Pre-initialize Volume with Random Data” basically means that your virtual drive will be filled with random data if there are not enough files to fill complete that volume. Use the default “on” setting.
Step 3. Now that your volume is created, open Windows Explorer (Win+E) and you’ll see a new “virtual drive” under My Computer. Just drag and drop any of your folders and files into this virtual drive and they’ll instantly get protected using encryption.
Once you have added all the files to the “protected” volume, make sure you delete them from the original location as the original copy is unencrypted and therefore anyone can open it without requiring a password.
Step 4. Switch to SafeHouse Explorer and choose File – > Close Volume to lock up the files. Congratulations. You have successfully created your first encrypted and password-protected folder on your computer that you can only access after typing the correct password.
To access your protected files, simply navigate to the folder that houses your SafeHouse volumes and double-click the corresponding volume file to open it. Type the password and you should see all the files and folders under a virtual drive in Windows Explorer again.
Encryption is obviously a complex subject for most of us but what you’ll really like about SafeHouse Explorer is that it hides all the technical details from the end user.
Encrypt your USB Flash Drive and Email Attachments
The tool will also be extremely handy for people who carry around important and confidential files on USB drives and external hard disks.
Instead of copying files and folders to your external disk directly, first encrypt these files on the hard-drive (as explained above) and then copy the encrypted volume (the.sksk file) to your external disk. Now even if the drive gets misplaced, the finder won’t be able to read any of your files and, since the software uses 256-bit encryption, it will be nearly impossible for anyone to crack your password.
Similarly, you can add an extra layer of protection to your sensitive email attachments with SafeHouse. Encrypt the files, send them as email attachments and communicate the

HOW TO TRANSFER CONTACTS FROM NOKIA TO IPHONE ?

EASY WAY TO COPY CONTACTS NOKIA TO IPHONE

Nokia to Iphone
Learn how easy it is to copy contacts from a Nokia phone to an iPhone or even to your online Gmail address book.
If your are looking for an easy workaround to copy contacts from old Nokia phone to an iPhone?
If it were a S60 Nokia phone (like the E-Series), you could have probably used Google Mobile Sync to copy contacts from the phone to Google Contacts and then use Google Sync on the iPhone again to bring those contacts from the cloud into your phone’s address book.

Transfer Contacts from Nokia Phone to iPhone

For older phones, you may use the operator’s SIM to transfer contacts from one phone to another. While the SIM is still inside your Nokia phone, go to Contacts – > Options – > Mark / Unmark – > Mark All. Now that all your existing contacts are selected, go to Options – > Copy – > Copy contacts to and choose SIM memory.
Next insert the SIM card into your iPhone and, as shown in theabove screenshots, go to Settings – > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and tap the Import SIM contacts button. Then configure the iPhone with your Gmail account and use Google Contacts to eliminate or merge duplicates, if any, from the iPhone.
The Nokia phone accepts regular SIM cards while the iPhone would only accept micro-SIM cards. If you have already cut the original SIM to fit into the iPhone, ask the mobile shop for Micro SIM adapters. The limitation is that your SIM may not have enough storage for all phone numbers so you may have to do the transfer in batches.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD ALL EMAILS AND READ WHILE OFFLINE

WHAT IS MAILSTORE ?

Mailstore
How do you ensure that you always have access to your emails even when there is no Internet (offline) or when you are not carrying a laptop but a USB drive.
How do you ensure that you always have access to all your web emails – even at places where there is no Internet or when you are not carrying your own laptop?
One of the popular options is that you use a tool like Microsoft Outlook to download all your emails to the computer beforehand and you can then read them anywhere even in offline mode. Both Gmail and Hotmail offer POP3 access to help you download messages using any email client while there are easy workarounds for Yahoo Mail.
There are some downsides though. First, most email clients are not portable (can you carry emails on a USB drive?) and second, if all you want is offline access to your Gmail messages and nothing extra, Outlook is probably too heavy a tool for that purpose.
I have been tested MailStore that seems like an ideal solution for such a problem – the tool is free, there’s a portable version for your USB stick and best of all, it works out of the box with your email account without requiring any configuration.
Step by Step – How to Backup your Emails
The way Mail Store works is something like this. Download and install (or unzip) the software to a folder and then select the email accounts that you want to archive. They can be your Gmail accounts, Microsoft Exchange, your old Outlook PST files, Thunderbird and any other web email service that supports either IMAP or POP3.
The tool will pull your email messages from all these places into a central location. If you have a large mailbox, you may specify criteria to skip emails that are older than ‘n’ days. It skips the Spam and Junk folders by default but you may also manually specify any folders /labels that you wish to include (or exclude) from the backup.
That’s it. There’s a convenient search box allowing you to search all your email accounts from one place. You can copy the Mail Store folder to your USB drive, or even your Drop box folder, and access all the emails from anywhere, anytime. Since this is more of an email backup utility and not a full-blown email client, it cannot be used for replying or sending new emails.
To quickly recap, here are some scenarios where you may find Mail Store useful:
0. You want to backup all your web mails to a safe location.
1. You want to carry your Microsoft Exchange / Outlook emails on a USB drive.
2. You have multiple email accounts and need to search all your mailboxes from one place.
3. You want offline access to all your web-based email
